We provide contracts and NDAs to protect the authors we work with. We want you to feel confident that your manuscript is safe with us.
All contracts will have a timeline for services so you know when your book will be ready for publishing.

ABOUT US
We are a team of three with more than 25 years combined experience in the editing field. We pride ourselves on being a one-stop resource for all your editing needs. We are aware first-time or even established writers find paying an editor a struggle. However, it’s a necessary evil in the publishing business.
Our development editor is Sarah. She's wonderful at advising where plot issues are and any weakness with suggestions on how to strengthen your story.
Line and copy editing is completed by Laura. She's been editing since 2014 for eXtasy Books and privately editing since 2016 with more than 800 books edited.
Finally our proofer is Amber. She has been editing and proofing since 2015 privately and editing for eXtasy Books since 2017.

Prices
Story-line report (beta) – This is a service if you need an opinion on your story and what it might need to make it ready for publishing. Do you need line editing? Or could you get by with a copy edit? Is the story needing development before editing? Where can you improve to make the story stronger? This service can be brutal, but always honest!
Once you have your final version finished:
Line editing – An in-depth edit of your manuscript. We look at spelling, grammar, sentence structure, POV shifts, timeline and character consistency, and overused words.
Copy editing – If your book has already been through a line editor and you need fine-tuning, this is the service for you. This includes basic errors such as spelling and grammar. The first 10 pages will let us know if this service will be comprehensive enough to serve your needs. If there are more errors that line editing should have caught, we will let you know.
Proofing – This is the last check to make sure nothing has been missed in the previous rounds. There should be no more than 1-2 edits per page for this service. If the manuscript requires more, we may send it back for copy or line editing, depending on the errors we find.
Prices and turnover times (in US dollars by original document count)
Story-line report two-week turnover- $2.50 per 1k word count
Line editing three-week turnover - $5.00 per 1k word count per round (usually 2 rounds)
Copy editing two-week turnover - $4.00 per 1k word count
Proofing two-week turnover - $2.50 per 1k word count
If a shorter turnover rate is required, the rates will change. Files over 60k words will be negotiated for a timeline agreeable to the editors and author. Files must be in Word doc. or rtf format and exchanged over email with no Google Docs transfers. If the file has been written in Google Docs, we may charge a $80 fee for reformatting since these require a hard strip before editing can begin.
